Do you want the Heat to trade for Kyle Lowry?

I would not want the Miami Heat to trade for Kyle Lowry.

Why or why not?

Trading for Lowry would include having to move a likely combination of Goran Dragic, Justise Winslow, and Tyler Herro to make the salary cap math work.

Not only would Miami be giving up two young pieces, but they would also be parting with Dragic’s expiring contract to acquire a 33-year-old point guard who is holding an extra year and $30 million on his contract.

Lowry is a player who Pat Riley has always allegedly had eyes for, but that package is not worth someone who is known for disappearing in most big moments.

Do you think the Heat will make it happen?

The Heat front office has to be patient and make a hard pass on trading for Lowry or anyone who will not move them into contender status. Especially at the expense of assets and cap space.

Do you want the Heat to trade for Kyle Lowry?

I’d love to have Kyle Lowry, the player, on this Miami Heat team. The Raptors have been one of my league pass teams along with the Jazz for years.

Why or why not?

I’ve always been on the record saying that Lowry is a wizard when it comes down to getting the ball to his teammates while getting them in just the right position to score. I think while Justise Winslow has been nice to watch grow into #PointJustise, there’s just something that doesn’t quite pass the eye test to me.

Maybe it’s his shooting percentages. So far this season, he’s shooting 57 percent of all his shots within 10 feet of the basket, but he’s only making 45 percent of those attempts. That’s a lot of misses. Sure, he’s worked on his shooting, but it just needs more work. I’m going to reserve judgment for now.
