2. The draft:

The greatest player to ever wear a Miami Heat jersey is number two. Period.

There is no debate. There is no second place.

Every bit of success that you have witnessed as a Miami Heat fan or observer since 2003, was because of Wade. He is everything about Miami. Currently (and most will likely stand for the foreseeable future), he is the leader in games, minutes, assists, steals, points, and many other stats and metrics.

Most of the moments that I listed before were only possible because of Wade. He was the reason they were able to win their first championship in 2006 after having one of the greatest finals series ever.

Why do you think James and Bosh even joined the Heat? Who do you think helped James be the best player he could possibly be? It was all because of him.

But the impact does not stop here with Wade,  because it does not just appear on the stat sheet or by the number of rings the team has. He was the leader of the team.

He was the closer of the team. He was the definition of Heat culture and was definitely part of the reason why certain players wanted to get to Miami. It has even gotten to the point where we call it Wade County, for crying out loud.

Even if you don’t want to believe it or not, there is a possibility that he may have been part of the reason why Jimmy Butler decided to come to Miami. Maybe, during his time in Chicago, he was recruiting him. Who knows?
