The Miami Heat and Jimmy Butler are a match made in basketball heaven. In a roundabout way, this latest Michelob beer ad shows exactly why.

Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat just fit. They are the perfect pairing it seems.

That is undeniable and after it all played out in the fashion that it did, it seemed as inevitable as anything that has ever happened. The question though is why?

Why Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat fit so well isn’t a mystery either though. It has everything to do with how their core purposes align.

Jimmy is a no-nonsense guy who believes that through hard work, anything can be accomplished. Not that we know if he has always believed that, but once you go from hardly having offers out of high school, to junior college, then to the mid-major Marquette, to finally being drafted late in the first round of the NBA Draft, to a defensive specialist, to NBA All-Star, it isn’t hard to see how that mentality was developed.

That is practically all of Jimmy’s story. Being the underdog and having to outwork and outshow the next person in order to achieve all that he has and to get to where he is and guess what? It has worked.

Sometimes you can’t listen to what people are telling you though, as sometimes you have to see for yourself. Feast your eyes on this next clip from an ad spot that Jimmy Butler recently did with Michelob Ultra beer. It tells the tale, in a different but specific kind of way.

Yep, you saw what you think you did. It’s the Miami Heat’s on-court leader belting away to the tune of “You Make My Dream (Come True)” by Hall & Oates. Here is what the NBA All-Star had to say of his experience shooting the spot according to Anheuser-Busch.

"“While singing in ULTRA’s new commercial was fun and showed a more joyful side of me, I must admit that I’m excited to bring that same spirit back to my day job,” said Butler.  “I look forward to returning to the court and am elated for the opportunity to virtually reconnect with NBA fans. It is their energy that brings the excitement to the game and makes it all worthwhile.”"

This shows you why they fit so well because it shows Jimmy Butler being unapologetically himself. He marches to the beat of his own drum. Where others zig, he’s not afraid to zag.

While others were doing what they thought they needed to do, mainly all of the fashionable things to do to get to where they wanted to be, Jimmy Butler stuck with good ole fashioned hard work. He did it the Miami Heat way.

That’s just it. When everyone else is all about fancy counting stats or the latest offensive craze, the Miami Heat remain true to themselves while emphasizing defense, team play, consistency, and hard work. That is what this commercial shows, someone willing to be themselves, pave their own way, and comfortable enough to stand in that.

Among many other things that it says about Jimmy Butler, those are some of the most prevalent. That is also how this commercial showed exactly why he’s perfect for the Miami Heat and why we love him.
