Andre Iguodala looked as spry as ever on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
It’s possible that no Miami Heat player impressed more on Thursday than veteran wing Andre Iguodala, who’s only been with the team since the February trade deadline. We’ve talked on here before about the distaste that followed his acquisition, given the team traded Justise Winslow.
But Iguodala reminded fans of why Pat Riley pulled the trigger on that deal against Milwaukee. He finished with 12 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds in 27 minutes on the floor.
It’s only the second time he’s played longer than 25 minutes with Miami, but also a season-high in every category for Iguodala. He was everywhere for Miami: bringing the ball up, catching lobs, knocking down three-pointers, and keeping his nose on the ball defensively.
Everything that made Iguodala such a key piece for the Golden State Warriors and their three championships from 2015-2018 was on display on Thursday. As the Heat look to make a splash of their own in the playoffs, having this version of the veteran will prove huge for their aspirations.
Each of the aforementioned players will look to continue playing key roles for the Miami Heat as they finish out their regular season. They’ll take on the Phoenix Suns on Saturday, in one of their remaining four games ahead of playoffs. Tip-off is at 7:30 pm est.
