The Miami Heat are in the NBA Finals, but that doesn’t mean that the business stops. Is Victor Oladipo really apart of that business?
The Miami Heat are far ahead of where they thought they might be this season. Heck, they are further along than anyone thought that they would be already in Jimmy Butler‘s Miami Heat tenure.
Although this is true, that doesn’t mean that they are fine with where they are, as they still want to win the NBA Finals. That’s the current business at hand.
That doesn’t mean that Pat Riley and the rest of the Miami Heat organization don’t have their eyes to the future though. That means that while their team is showing what they are made of right now, attempting to prove that they are already the best in the world, the front office is still trying to make them better moving forward.
Indeed they will. It is proved by the multitude of names that have been associated with the Miami Heat over the last year or so.
You, of course, have Giannis Antetokounmpo, Danilo Gallinari, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, Joel Embiid, and others. None of them though and I mean none of them would fit this Miami Heat team better than Victor Oladipo.
He is already a two-way terror, as many on this current Heat team are, who can play either of the three small positions and already has experience being mainly on and off the ball. With all of that, the Heat’s need for another guy, and the Heat’s need for another main ball-handling option, Dipo is the perfect fit.
The Miami Heat seemed locked in on acquiring another game-changer. Is Victor Oladipo still in the running to be that guy?
We thought it had a good chance of happening too, as all you have heard is that he wants out of Indy, while all you have seen is him be buddy-buddy with Miami Heat players. Well, things may have changed, at least according to a recent social media live stream.
Talking with rapper Fat Joe, here is what VO had to say on the topic.
Transcribed, the guts of the essential part of what he said was this:
"“I’m a Pacer. I’m a Pacer. Those rumors on the internet, I don’t know where they’re coming from, I’m just focused on getting my knee right for next year.”"
Well, that sounds finite and conclusive enough, doesn’t it? Typically it would, but hear this.
Other players have said the same thing. Most notably, Kevin Durant said something similar before then jetting off to join the world champs, who had just beaten him.
Victor Oladipo may just do the same thing, except for this Miami Heat team wasn’t supposed to be where they currently are. I still believe he leaves Indiana and the Miami Heat have as good a chance as anyone to potentially re-sign him if he does, so they should be high on the list of teams that have a chance to land him in any initial trade here as well.
So, this is par for the course, as it’s what’s he supposed to say to maintain his trade value. We all know what the nature of the situation really is though and because of that, we already have a locker waiting for you Vic.
