The Miami Heat have a special one on their hands in their rookie sensation. With more hard work, he has a chance to be a great one.

The Pick and Roll Game

For Herro to take his game to the next level, I would like to see him work on his pick and roll game. Herro is pretty good at making decisions with the ball in his hands, while he showed some playmaking ability inside the bubble, which lets you know that the tools are there.

Herro compares his game to Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker. The similarities are there, that is undeniable.

Heck, the Miami Heat even think he can be better than Booker. That would be golden.

Booker has really used the pick and roll to elevate his game though because like Herro, Booker is good in the mid-range and very adept at getting to his spots on the court. Once a player can get to their spots in the pick and roll game, then it makes the game exponentially easier for them.

Once Herro can master the pick and roll game, especially with Bam Adebayo on the other side of it,  Miami will unlock another part of their offense. It would add yet another tool to their arsenal to pull out when they need a bucket.

Tyler Herro had a very impressive rookie year, making Miami Heat fans fall in love with him along the way. I’ve got news for you, well not really, but he will only get better with time.

Herro’s second year will be a good test for him because he will be on the opposing team’s scouting report as more of a complete threat, as opposed to just a “shooter”. Personally, I do not expect Herro to have the so-called “sophomore slump” because he puts in the work and has high expectations for himself as well.

More importantly, the organization, the coaching staff, and his teammates have high expectations for Boy Wonder as well. It also doesn’t hurt that he has the game to back it up and these are three ways he can continue to improve it.
