Miami Heat Rumors: 3 reasons Jerami Grant shouldn’t be in play for them
With expected interest from the Miami Heat in Jerami Grant, they shouldn’t be fooled by what they saw during his time in Denver.
He was one of the only “workman” kind of guys on a finesse team
The Miami Heat need pieces, but a certain type. They need scoring, off the bounce play, and size to be specific.
You can never have enough shooting as well, although the Miami Heat did lead the league in three-point shooting for a while, while staying at the top of the league for most of the season. So there’s also that.
Jerami Grant is capable of scoring. He is capable of scoring off the bounce.
He is capable of hitting the three as well. However, is he lethal, elite, or even great at any of them?
I would dare to say he isn’t. Jermai Grant took advantage of a prime situation for a player like himself.
He was the hustle and athleticism on a team full of finesse. That’s it right there.
What he did for this Denver team was highlighted… and dare I say… over exaggerated because he was almost the only guy on that Denver team who approaches the game the way he does. On a team full of cutesy wutesy, the guy that will go and get it regardless will stand out.
That’s what worked for Grant in Denver. That speaks towards an earlier point I made as well, him being put in a position in Denver and being able to maximize that role.
He was a hustle guy with skills on a team full of guys who rely solely on skillsets. His mentality was an extra asset in Denver, but in Miami, that is the expectation. It wouldn’t set him apart here.
That isn’t all though, there’s more. Let’s continue.
