The Miami Heat will have to think outside of the box to fill their needs. Could either of the following be the guys for them?
4. P.J. Tucker
After the departure of Mike D’Antoni and Daryl Morey in Houston, Tucker could potentially be on the move if the new Rockets coach wants a change in style. Miami should take advantage of this and trade for P.J. Tucker if he is made available by Houston.
We know what he can do as a small-ball five, but he also is a great rebounder and defensive wizard, something the Heat could definitely use more of. You worry about his size, but he has shown to be able to hold his own as the toughest and most physical guy on a given team, so you have that much more confidence when thinking about him among this current group of tough guys.
5. Mohamed Bamba
I fully admit that I cheated with this one as Mo Bamba’s contract technically doesn’t expire after this season, however, he does have a couple of team options before him, which means he could be available.
Plus, any chance I can talk about the former Texas center, I’m going to take it. Yea, there’s that.
In any situation, Bamba is simply playing on the wrong team. He’s getting buried on the depth chart due to the log jam at the forward position for his current Magic squad.
A new situation could really help Mo’s development and we’ve seen what Miami can do when it comes to developing raw big men.
The Miami Heat need help in a few different positions. But you can always use size, shooting, special skills, and defense.
All of these potential acquisitions offer either one or more of those qualities. That’s why these are interesting names to monitor as far as a trade to maintain flexibility, while also improving the team now,
