The Miami Heat love Kentucky Wildcats. Will they be adding another to their talented roster?

To be totally clear… If I were choosing, I would trade the 20th overall pick.

No one seems to know what the Miami Heat will do between now and November 18, whether in the NBA Draft or otherwise. In a draft class devoid of surefire superstars, there may be plenty of solid – if not spectacular – role players available in the back half of the first round if the Heat
choose to use the selection.

Experienced college guards like Desmond Bane from TCU and Malachi Flynn from San Diego State have been linked to the Heat at 20th overall, while the team has reportedly conducted multiple interviews with Kentucky”s Immanuel Quickley as well.

They are also expressing interest in another Wildcat in Ashton Hagans.

With no consensus at the 20th spot, it’s fair to think that this pick will either be included in a trade prior to the draft or on draft night. Perhaps it will be unloaded to move out of the first round entirely.

Who knows? Anything and everything is in play with the guy that calls the shots for Miami in this area.

I don’t think it makes sense for Pat Riley to add more than two players from this draft to Miami’s payroll, while there are a number of experienced guards and bigs in the second round that the the team could select at a lower rookie rate, including some if not all of the names listed above.

A number of personnel decisions have yet to play out and could linger into Draft night and beyond, so we’ll truly just have to wait and see whether a player selected in the first round will be part of Miami’s plans as they gear up for the free agency summer of 2021.

If I had to choose a guy though from this class at 20, it would probably be Immanuel Quickley from Kentucky.
