The Miami Heat won the NBA Draft when they selected Memphis forward Precious Achiuwa. They weren’t the only winners though.

If you’re like me, you really need to take a break from watching Miami Heat draft pick, Precious Achiuwa, highlights on YouTube. Is it too early to say Pat Riley and the Miami Heat did it again?

Probably, but boy is he fun to watch.

But Miami wasn’t the only winner from last night’s NBA Draft. Today, I took a look at three teams that I thought exceeded expectations and made the most of their picks.

Let’s dive in!

Sacramento Kings

Believe me, I love dunking on the Kings for doing dumb things just as much as anyone. When Tyrese Haliburton kept falling, I just knew the Kings would pass him up to take some international player.

Because that’s just what the Kings do. There’s no rhyme or reason for it.

But I have to give credit where credit is due. Even though you or I would have picked Haliburton, the most important thing is that the freaking Kings actually did something right.

Congrats Kings fans!

I’ll be watching the virtual parade and the hanging of the “Sacramento Kings made a smart pick 2020” banner. In all seriousness, I love Tyrese to Sacramento.

His playmaking and shooting fit perfectly with De’Aaron Fox, while the Kings now have their backcourt of the future. Will this make Sacramento a playoff team?

Absolutely not, but the Kings made a smart pick and that’s step one.
