The Miami Heat will likely have to trade Tyler Herro to land James Harden if they strike a deal. They can’t trade their other perimeter stud though.

They Run On Duncan

The Miami Heat can’t just land James Harden for nothing. It doesn’t work that way.

If it did, that would be wonderful in this situation but it doesn’t. They are going to have to send back something that we all deem as valuable to get a deal done.

In this scenario, that package all but certainly involves Tyler Herro. Here’s the thing though, they cannot have Duncan Robinson.

The Miami Heat will likely need to send Kendrick Nunn, KZ Okpala, Tyler Herro, and perhaps even a Chris Silva, along with draft capital to land Harden, but they cannot send Duncan Robinson away in any deal. That is a deal-breaker.

That doesn’t mean that Duncan Robinson, himself, is the breaker, it means that having to send them both is a deal-breaker. They are the Miami Heat’s spacing on the floor and losing them both is too big a blow, even with Harden’s acquisition.

That’s where the buck would stop with me. There will be multiple players going back to Houston in a potential deal and one of them would be Tyler Herro but Duncan Robinson wouldn’t be in that package as well though if I am the Miami Heat.

The Rockets would probably send out at least two players as well. Let’s look at that.
