The Miami Heat may seek out rim protection and/or other help at some point. Or could they be the same guy?

The Miami Heat need rim protection and a paint presence, as we mentioned. Perhaps they could also land a guy that’s a impact player or a star at the same time.

For example, let’s say that DeMarcus Cousins is having a pretty good resurgent year in Houston but they aren’t doing anything in the way of playoff contention it seems, wouldn’t it make sense for the Miami Heat to at least check on the situation? Yes, without a doubt it would.

That’s the type of situation where their paint presence on defense and their impact guy could be the same person. It doesn’t have to be though.

Whether it be a disgruntled star, a guy that isn’t likely to sign with his current team, or simply a guy on a bad team that decides to rebuild, the Miami Heat will likely be players at the trade deadline, providing they don’t trade for James Harden much sooner than that.

That’s the fourth thing on their Christmas wish list, another star, impact player, or that coveted whale that Pat Riley is always chasing.

The Miami Heat aren’t going anywhere and that we can assure you of. With this newfound breath of fresh air in the franchise, they will maximize this window.

If they get a few or, dare I say, all of their wishes on this list, then those chances shoot through the roof. That’s why these are the four things on their Christmas wish list.
