The Miami Heat made Bam Adebayo a very rich man a few weeks back and he’s still getting better.

The Miami Heat gave Bam Adebayo what he deserved a few weeks back. A new, nice, big, fat deal with his name all over it.

He earned it. Although the thought was that they would kick the can down the road as long as they could to maintain maximum flexibility, they did the right thing by taking care of their guy and he reciprocated by not requesting any options in his deal.

Bam Adebayo- Most Improved Player

With all this in mind though, there is something to digest with this all. Bam earned this money already and is only, at max, 70-75 percent of the player he could be.

He still has a ton of room to grow and I expect he will continue to do so. Last season, Brandon Ingram rightfully was a top competitor for the NBA Most Improved Player, you can’t argue that.

However, Bam was just as impactful, generally, and was four times as impactful for his team. Besides, Bam was a leader and the second-best player on a top team in the league for all of last season.

That isn’t what the award is about, I know, but that should count for something, right? In any scenario, I expect him to be right back into contention this year.

Though he is already a max player, as we stated, he still has a ton of room to grow. Bam Adebayo will continue to get better and find himself right back in the mix for the NBA MIP again this season.

The Miami Heat tip things off on Tuesday against Orlando and we all know how those games go. This should be a good one to open up the year.

If all of these guys can live up to the expectations that I’ve set for them here, then we should be more than fine again this season. I can’t wait!
