The Miami Heat haven’t made a move yet, but that doesn’t mean they won’t.
The Miami Heat have been apart of quite a few rumors over the last couple of years. To be totally honest, a few of them were actually more than true while others had more than a little bit of truth to them.
They seem to honestly be out of their latest rumor generating situation though entirely, as indicated recently. With James Harden itching to get out of Houston, the Miami Heat indicated recently that they were out on the pursuit, but does that mean that they aren’t trying to improve via another move?
How urgent they should be when making a move
The Miami Heat are likely going to make a move at some point this year. The “when” and “with who” portion of that equation remain to be seen though.
For this example’s sake, let’s just use Victor Oladipo. Let’s say that they are drubbed in both matchups, that might make them more inclined to move now and thus act from an area of less leverage.
Let’s say they split the pair. That could force an entirely different set of circumstances and similarly if they are to win both games.
When it comes to urgency, leverage, and how they impact one another, that has everything to do with what and how much a team is willing to part with to get a guy. When thinking about a guy who is bound to leave and who potentially wants to come to Miami anyway, such as the guy we used in our example in Oladipo, those things become that much more important.
That’s why the first two revealing facts are important as well. They help indicate how badly a move is needed, if at all right now.
The Miami Heat want to win both games, at least one, and put on a good showing in each as well. With Jimmy dealing with an ankle tweak and with them getting off to a 1-1 start, things should be interesting heading into these matchups.
Keep your eyes peeled though. As mentioned, we stand to learn a ton about this team across the next few days.
