The Miami Heat are a range shooting team. If Jimmy becomes a threat again, that takes things up an entire notch.
The Miami Heat are able to do the things that they do as a team because of the spacing that they command at all times. For the most part, they keep a few guys on the floor that have major gravity.
For example, Duncan Robinson has as much gravity as anybody, with “gravity” here being the ability to command or keep the attention and thus physical presence of a defender to you or that proximity in itself. His thee point shooting ability renders it impossible for the defense to safely leave him alone.
Tyler Herro is another guy that has gravity. Jimmy Butler has gravity as well, though his shot isn’t falling at the moment.
Three Point Shooting
Here’s the wonderful thing there though. He’s taking the shot from range early this year.
Last season, it seemed as though he got a lot of them up as the season went on but at least he’s starting earlier this year. While I don’t want him to shoot the Heat or himself out of games, there is a chance he actually finds a rhythm this season.
Most results would be better than the 24.4. percent he shot from deep last year. That’s just bad.
The Miami Heat will need all that Jimmy Butler can provide to keep pace in the Eastern Conference. Things are still pretty wide open as teams try to establish themselves with some sort of certainty over the next few weeks.
They will need Jimmy to continue doing the things above to be in that mix.
