The Miami Heat need to be better in all phases. That starts with the mental side of things.

My worries are not only on the court though. My concerns are also off the court as well.

On a recent epidote of JJ Redick’s podcast The Old Man & the Three, Duncan Robinson Joined the show and discussed how him and Tyler Herro have dealt with the rumors. He noted how at training camp there was talk about the recent trade rumors.

We all know what the trade rumors were that Robinson speaks of here, obviously the James Harden rumors. In our publication group discussion hub, I mentioned that I saw some things on Herro’s Instagram that caught my eyes about him hearing the trade rumors.

In today’s NBA, players hear everything from trade rumors to social media rating their outfits. This was one of my fears once the trade rumors started to become real.

After the year that Miami had and with the buzz that Herro and Robinson generated last season, you could see how both of them could be in their head with trade rumors. Herro had a great rookie year with big postseasons moments and Robinson is not only a great story but the best shooter in the league, arguably.

For Herro, a rookie last season, it should all be new. For Robinson though, who finally found his niche in the NBA and is due for a nice contract this offseason, it may be a bit different.

Being in trade rumors with James Harden is apart of the business but at the same time, this is Robinsons and Herro first time being in the business of being a professional athlete. There are really only two options for Miami.

One is to make a move sooner or later because this team needs a shake up, via a big trade or a small trade to tighten up the screws. The other is to firmly stand pat and let your guys know that they are there for the long haul.

Personally, the former might be the better option. This team needs something, because right now they are pretty stagnant.
