The Miami Heat could use Irving’s ability, but at what cost to their team?
Kyrie Irving is a very different kind of guy. He marches to the beat of his own drum.
That’s just the issue though. When you play in Miami, you march to the beat of their drum, which is the drum of the team.
Miami isn’t a cult or a military operation. They are an organization that believes in selling out for the greater good though.
For Kyrie, this doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t allow him to be himself, heck, they would encourage it. What it does mean though is that some of his actions have a very selfish or “me first” kind of thing about them and the Miami Heat wouldn’t stand for that.
While he is a very talented player, among the most talented in the league, I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my ball club. It’s for three specific, yet simple reasons.
First, whatever it would cost to get him isn’t worth it. Associated with that, you would have spent so much to acquire him and would count on him so much for the success of your ball club after doing so that he could practically hold you and your organization hostage.
You don’t want to be at the will of a guy like Kyrie. For example, see James Harden’s latest press conference.
Lastly, whatever you do manage to keep and younger, more impressionable guys specifically, is Kyrie Irving really the guy you want them around, watching move, and learning from? I didn’t think so.
That’s pretty much it for me. To be clear and to reiterate, I wouldn’t want him anywhere near my team.
The Brooklyn Nets have made their bed, now they have to lay in it. Somebody might take him off their hands, but I hope it isn’t Miami that bails them out.
Pretty funny isn’t it. For a few weeks or so now, we have all talked about Caris LeVert and others being moved for a guy, such as James Harden, when by the time it’s all said and done, it may be Kyrie Irving on the move.
I just hope it isn’t to Miami.
