Miami Heat: Latest stretch of adversity might not be the worst thing
Why Miami Heat Adversity Not The Worst Thing: Bam Adebayo
The Miami Heat gave Bam Adebayo the bag, as we like to say, this past offseason. Though Bam isn’t a guy who has to score 25 points every night for him to be worth that money, when your other top guys are out or not quite feeling it on any given night, you need him to step up.
For the most part, Bam has done just that. Not only has he continued to do the things that has made him who he is over his career, the intangibles, the hustle plays, the other things besides scoring that helps the team win, but he has also started to fully put his offensive arsenal on display.
We have seen an array of midrange jump shots and off the dribble moves from Bam Adebayo over the last few games. Though I believe that these things will need to be present and very necessary when the Heat are at full strength for them to make another title run, I am not so sure that they would have started to reveal themselves in such impactful and plentiful fashion if all the main guys and more specifically, Jimmy Butler, had been in the lineup regularly throughout the start of the season thus far.
On top of that, we often find ourselves missing Jimmy Butler too much when he’s out. Jimmy Butler is a two-way superstar that does a lot for this Miami Heat team, but we can’t be a squad that can automatically chalk one up to the defeat column when he’s out.
I believe that the fact that Bam and the rest of the team has taken steps forward to show that they can get it done while Jimmy gets his self together is a great thing for their confidence and should only allow them to be that much better when he comes back. Apart of what has helped them get it done is the next reason why their latest stretch of adversity might not be so bad.
