I can be sold on Kyle Lowry for the Miami Heat.
As the title implies, I can be sold on Kyle Lowry for the Miami Heat. It’s for a few different reasons.
The first thing you think about with Kyle Lowry is his demeanor and will to win. That’s number one.
He’s always going to be one of the toughest, scrappiest, and most desire-filled guys on the court and that’s even on a court alongside Jimmy Butler. That, alone, is impressive.
He’s also a two-way guy. Not only can he drastically help your offense still, but he’s a guy who’s still a pest on the other end of the floor, which Miami would soak all the way up.
He can still get it done off the bounce, he can still knock down the long ball, and most importantly, he’s been there before. Kyle Lowry is a championship type player that also just so happens to have a championship.
He is a finished product already. From the individual success to the team success, he’s experienced it all.
At this point, it should be about continuing to solidify his legacy. While staying and continuing to win in Toronto would help do that as well, coming to Miami to help them chase a title wouldn’t be a bad second act or way to continue building that legacy either.
The only issue here would be his price tag. Right at $30 million for this season, that’s just it, it’s only for this year.
The Miami Heat can absorb that salary and could re-sign him for less, if they chose to do so. At this point, the Miami Heat aren’t really going to use cap anywhere else, so it wouldn’t kill them to take on his salary for the remainder of the season and especially if they send something back out in a potential deal.
Listen and most importantly, as we stated, he can help this team win ballgames. That’s the most important thing but because it helps, you aren’t tied to him beyond this year, unless you want to be.
These are the reasons why I can, most certainly, be sold on Kyle Lowry. Let’s see what happens.
