What do the Miami Heat really need?: Harrison Barnes or Blake Griffin

Harrison Barnes – 16.6 PPG, 6.2 RPG, 3.5 APG

I’ll admit, first looking at Harrison Barnes, I didn’t really see the fit with Miami until I started thinking about his time in Golden State. Barnes is a guy that is big enough to switch onto multiple offensive players defensively and has really improved his shooting on the other side.

He’s actually exactly what the Miami Heat need. That’s what makes this next fact so.

Barnes would be the toughest player to acquire on this list, simply because I think the Kings are trying to be good… maybe… perhaps? Although to be honest, I don’t think the Kings know what they want to do, trading one of your best players that’s also sneaky young is a great way to disappoint the poor fans in Sacramento

Blake Griffin – 12.3 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 3.9 APG

I’ll admit, this is kind of cheating because Blake Griffin isn’t necessarily a wing player, but he is a guy I think Miami could be in the running for once he’s officially bought out of his deal in Detroit. Another dude that just has been bad this season, if anyone has a chance to revive Blake’s season, I think it’s the Heat.

Miami wouldn’t even need to start Blake, as I would love for him to come off the bench and be our backup four or five man. The Heat don’t need Blake to carry the offense, but to just be a facilitator with the second unit and feast on other team’s second units.

The best part about Blake is that the Miami Heat don’t have to trade for him. Once he gets bought out, all Pat Riley has to do is convince him to sign with the Heat for the rest of the season.

It’s a win-win for both parties. Miami gets Blake for half a season and likely, the post-season, plus Griffin gets to prove that he’s not in-fact, washed.

Next. Justise Winslow deserves to feel how he wants about whatever. dark

These moves would not only make sense for the Miami Heat, but all three potential guys mentioned. That’s why these should be three targets for Pat Riley and the Heat at the deadline.
