The Miami Heat have a beast on their hands, if they can actually get him to realize how ‘beastly’ he can be. That would be Bam Adebayo.

In today’s game there aren’t any “real centers” anymore, especially centers with good post moves.

Develop a post game:

Yes, I know Adebayo isn’t a post player but he needs to be more comfortable down there. Too many times this season, Adebayo would have an advantage on a guard that was attempting to guard him and not get a basket out of it.

Adebayo really just needs two to three moves down there. He needs just enough moves where he feels comfortable and he can easily get six to eight more points per contest by, simply, being more comfortable down there.

Adebayo can really unlock his game this summer. A few go-to moves on the block would certainly go a long way.

Shoot more:

Adebayo has nice life and form on his jumper, so expanding his range will only be a matter of time. In my opinion, the time is now for Adebayo to really use his jumper more, in general.

Adebayo likes to shoot his jumpers from the elbow, which is good but it looks, at times, that he does not want to shoot the open shot. I’d like to see more pick and roll with him, perhaps, to help him look for his jumper more.

If he starts to look for and thus, knock down, his jumper more, it would only help Miami’s offense and especially the Miami guards. With opposing defense’s having a harder time covering the pick roll, with the greater potential that he will be pulling the shot, it could lead to Miami’s guards attacking the rim more easily.

There is also this. It could lead to Adebayo being switched to a smaller player, not just being the roll man, allowing him to keep the defense guessing more in the process.
