Duncan Robinson shot the lights out for the Miami Heat in the Bubble season. He set a very high bar for himself there.
The Miami Heat will have to open the checkbook, a bit, for Duncan Robinson this offseason if they want to keep him. He will receive a pretty sizable pay raise, from somewhere, it’s assured.
With that though and the shooting display he put on during the Bubble year, he has a set of pretty high bars out there lurking. Those are goals number two and three.
Hit His 44.6 Percent Deep Shooting Bar Again
As mentioned earlier, during the NBA Bubble season, Duncan Robinson just may have been the best deep shooter in the entire league. Think about that?
When you consider the degree of difficulty of his shots, the moments in which he hit them, the volume with which he hit them and most importantly here, the efficiency with which he was sinking them from long range, he had a downright amazing shooting year. He shot nearly 45 percent on 8.3 attempts.
For numbers sake, he hit half of his three point attempts, that just so happened to be about eight attempts per game. That’s production and at the highest of levels.
While defenses have adjusted and while he’s still one of the very best shooters in the league, if he can hit that number again, that makes you forget about the contract he’s about to get. Well, what a way to bury the lead, huh?
