Miami Heat prospect #3: Sandro Mamukelashvili
Sandro Mamukelashvili, though an impossible name to pronounce, is shaping up to be a solid prospect. The 6-11 forward/center has shown potential to become a very valuable player.
He spent four years at Seton Hall but is originally from the country of Georgia. Mamukelashvili spent his first three years with Seton Hall star Myles Powell, and his final year shining on his own.
In his senior season, he averaged 17.5 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists, while shooting 43.4% from the field and 33.6% from deep. These stats earned him 2021 Co-Big East Player of the Year.
Mamukelashvili can score from a variety of different places on the court. He can shoot the ball at a decent clip from three-point range, and also has the ability to bang down low.
While he’s not an elite ball-handler by any means, he has shown promise as a passer for a big man. He took on a decent amount of these responsibilities in his senior season.
He has a solid feel for the game and could be able to make a solid impact right away if given the opportunity to play for the right team.
ESPN lists him as the ninth-best center in the draft out of 14. In their top 100, he is the 80th ranked prospect.
Pairing Mamukelashvili next to Bam Adebayo in some lineups could be perfect. His ability to stretch the floor and potential as a versatile offensive player make him worth a shot for the Miami Heat.
