Miami Heat: 4 Lower-Tiered Free Agents To Target
The Miami Heat could use some dynamic guard-type of help on their roster and the next two guys fit the bill. They also both happened to play in NY last year.
The Miami Heat need options when it comes to their lead guard. They need a guy who can help make plays for the team, put up a little resistance on the defensive end against opposing lead guards, while also showing a bit of aptitude to score at all three levels.
While that can seem like a tall request and very well might be, there are guys that will be available that fit the bill and all of them won’t break the bank. This next pair of guys might be two of them.
Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose has experienced a resurgence and though he doesn’t get it done exactly how he use to, he still has enough of that along with other additions to his game, to make him lethal in the right situation. The Miami Heat could be that next situation for him.
Averaging 14.7 points, 4.2 dimes, 2.6 rebounds, and a steal across just over 25.5 minutes played this season for both the Pistons and the Knicks in 50 games played, he did so while shooting 47 percent from the floor and nearly 40 percent from deep.
Even at only about three attempts per contest, 38.8 percent from three is 38.8 percent. Perhaps a Jimmy & D.Rose reunion could work in South Beach.
Alec Burks
Alec Burks is another interesting situation for New York. Burks has always been able to score, but staying healthy has also always been a thing for him.
When he’s right though, he can, flat-out, fill it up. Though he only averaged 12.7 points per contest this season for New York, he did so while shooting 41.5 percent from deep on five attempts per contest.
That’s production the Miami Heat could benefit from. This pair of Knicks is an interesting one and should command some Miami Heat interest.
