Miami Heat trade for big man depth and an extra shooter

Though the names may not be flashy, this would certainly improve the Miami Heat’s depth. Both Larry Nance Jr. and Taurean Prince are quality players who can help the team win now.

Larry Nance is under contract for two more seasons and is coming off a solid year. He is a versatile big man that can effectively play the four or five.

He averaged 9.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.7 steals last season. Nance shot 47.1% from the field and 36% from deep.

He is a super athletic big that is solid on both ends of the floor. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, he would definitely make a huge impact in Miami’s rotation.

As for Taurean Prince, he would provide some knockdown shooting for the Heat. He shot 40% from deep on 4.1 attempts last season.

The Cavaliers would get a bit older in this trade, but it also opens up a ton of possibilities in the future. Both Dragic and Iguodala would be off the books after next season.

In addition, they would receive KZ Okpala and a first-round pick. This opens up some financial wiggle room for next offseason and beyond.

While this may seem like a lot to give up, Cleveland has said they value Nance, and it would likely take at least a pick to get him. It also secures Nance on a relatively cheap contract and gets some value out of expiring deals.
