Miami Heat: The Manifesto Of An Ideal Upcoming Offseason

Miami Heat Ideal Offseason Manifesto: Power Forwards
The Miami Heat’s second-best player is a power forward. Well, that’s, at least, where you would like to see Bam plays more, his natural position.
4. Power Forwards
Bam Adebayo
In the 2019-20 season, Bam Adebayo played mostly at the four and found much success with a center who could space the floor next to him. We’ll get to that later, but I think running Bam at the power forward would help him get more favorable matchups, offensively and defensively.
Bam is obviously going to be here, not only next season, but for many more to come after that. Bam is one of the best defenders in the league, if not the best.
Offensively, he has improved every year and there’s no reason to believe that the trend should stop this offseason, especially with him being a part of Team USA for the Olympics. I’m expecting a big season from Bam and with a point guard like Kyle Lowry running the floor for this lineup, I think that Bam could truly be unleashed in 2021-22.
Precious Achiuwa
Like Bam, Precious Achiuwa will also be participating in Olympic activities, in what will be his first real offseason as a pro. With all of these factors coming into consideration, I think that Precious will be a real contributor off of the bench for the Miami Heat this upcoming season.
If the Heat can get Precious to put up something like 13 and seven off the bench next year, then I think he could become a key part of the Heat’s future. Precious is an extremely raw talent and with an offseason of Olympic training, then the Summer League, this offseason could be the key to unlocking his potential.
Achiuwa is still on his rookie deal, so the cap hit would not be as big as if the organization brought in a different backup big. It’s always good to help out the cap sheet as well.
