3 Miami Heat Guys That Exceeded Expectations: Dewayne Dedmon

The Miami Heat needed a big man in the worst way. There weren’t a ton out there, but then, chatter started about this guy.

Dewayne Dedmon

As the season progressed, Dewayne Dedmon‘s name started to bubble up and be associated with the Heat. Then, things got really serious, as people started to report a real interest and potentially… a sighting in Miami.

A few days later, he was signed. The rest is history.

The Ded Man immediately proceeded to come in with his allotted minutes and add a jolt of energy.  If you have ever seen him play, it’s apparent he gives everything he has when he’s on the floor but you never knew it was like this, furthermore, you didn’t know it would look like it did in this organization.

It was a hand-in-glove fit. A big, skilled, energetic, controlled-careless, behemoth, who can shoot it a bit, will sell out for his team, doesn’t seem to have an ego, and shouldn’t break the bank to retain… Dedmon was a stone cold win for the Miami Heat.

The Miami Heat needed size, so you knew that would help but you didn’t know that his high-effort and energy would not only make him a fan-favorite but make it, darn near, impossible not to bring him back. That’s how he ended up on the list.

The Miami Heat have a ton of questions to answer as they get deeper into the offseason. Hopefully, with these guys going above and beyond this past season, the decisions on them aren’t that hard to make.
