Miami Heat draft target #1: Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland

Nah’Shone Hyland, who has adopted the nickname “Bones,” is a player who has shot up draft boards in recent weeks. His performance at the NBA Combine is what really raised his stock.

The 6-3 point guard has garnered high praise for his intensity and scoring ability. He catapulted himself from a likely second-round draft pick to being in consideration in the mid-to-late first round.

His sophomore season at VCU was the beginning of Hyland’s rise, however. He improved a ton from his first to his second year in college.

Hyland averaged 19.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 steals last year.  He shot 44.7% from the field and 37.1% from three-point range.

The VCU product then doubled down on his phenomenal season with an amazing scrimmage game at the combine. He put up 17 points, six rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and a steal in only 23 minutes of action.

His hard work and all-around game would fit in super well with the Miami Heat. He would also help fill a potential position of need.

Goran Dragic has a huge team option this summer, and Kendrick Nunn will be entering restricted free agency. Drafting a point guard could help fill in some holes at the one.
