The Miami Heat need to have their priorities in line this summer. That means re-signing players on valuable contracts and overpaying for players that are crucial to their offensive scheme.
4. Trevor Ariza
Trevor Ariza played his role perfectly during his time in Miami. He played solid defense and shot the three-ball at an average clip.
There’s a solid chance he comes back on a minimum deal, but he the choice to play anywhere. It’s really up in the air for him.
3. Gabe Vincent
Gabe Vincent would have been much lower on this list a few weeks ago. However, a stellar performance in Nigeria’s upset over Team USA changes things.
He showed some real potential in that game and could continue to do so over the course of the Olympics. Considering the Heat need guard depth, they’d be foolish not to give him another contract.
2. Duncan Robinson
Duncan Robinson is a restricted free agent, meaning the Miami Heat can match any deal he gets. Due to the role he plays on the team, they’ll almost certainly match anything and everything.
He’s set to make some serious money, but it should be the team’s number one priority to re-sign him. Robinson should ideally be back in a Heat uniform next season.
1. Udonis Haslem
This one is fairly obvious. Udonis Haslem said he would be back for another season at the end of last year, and there’s absolutely no chance he would sign for another organization.
Haslem and the Heat go together like peanut butter and jelly. The captain of the Miami Heat will most certainly be back next season.
The roster could look a lot different next season. It’ll be very interesting to see how Pat Riley deals with this year’s Miami Heat free agency class.
