Miami Heat Roundtable: Should They Trade Into First Round Of NBA Draft?
Miami Heat Roundtable On Trading Into Round 1 Of NBA Draft: Jack’s Take
The Miami Heat don’t have a first-round draft pick this year. In fact, they don’t have any draft picks at all.

Unfortunately for them, this is expected to be one of the most talented draft classes in a long time. They don’t have a ton of assets to work with, but there are definitely routes that can be taken in order to trade into the draft.
If those options present themselves, Pat Riley should jump at the opportunity. Two, potentially cheap, options include the Lakers and 76ers.
Both teams have late first-round picks and could be willing to trade them in favor of adding veteran assets. Since the Lakers are trying to deal Kyle Kuzma, that trade could look like Goran Dragic and a future second for Kuzma and pick 22.
As for the 76ers, they could be willing to upgrade from George Hill to Dragic and throw in the 28th pick in the process. The Heat could look to get riskier and approach the Warriors, in an attempt to get pick 14, but that’s highly unlikely.
However, if the Heat can trade Dragic and get a late first, it would be well worth giving up the 35-year-old point guard while he still has some value.
