3 Cost-Efficient Miami Heat FA Shooting Targets: Malik Monk

The Miami Heat and Heat fans know first hand what this guy can do if he catches fire. The flashbacks shouldn’t be that painful.

Malik Monk

While the Bubble year was a struggle for Malik Monk from deep, at just 28 percent on 3.7 attempts per game, he found his stroke this past season to shoot 40 percent on five attempts per contest.

In three games against the Heat last season, Monk shot 60.7 percent from three, making 17 of 28 attempts across the three games and averaging 26.3 points per contest. He didn’t do an awful lot else in other categories, but with a true shooting percentage of 83.1 percent in the three contests, he did enough.

The Miami Heat could use his shooting, this is true. However, the fact that he can create a bucket for himself out of thin air at times, it seems, could be a valuable asset to them as well if they can hone it in correctly.
