Miami Heat dream target, Damian Lillard, came out on Friday to directly address rumors about him and his future.

Told to a familiar conduit for Dame Lillard’s thoughts, Chris Haynes had the privilege of learning that Lillard would respond to that particular rumor more sooner than later. He would do so following a Team USA practice on Friday afternoon.

In that response, one of the things that really sticks out to you is that he says he “woke up” to those rumors, portraying a certain level of shock. There could be something there or not, depending on how deep the whole orchestration of it all goes.

In any situation, here is the gist of what he had to say on it.

"It’s not true. I’ll start off the rip and say it’s not true. I said the last time that I spoke to you guys that a lot of things are being said and it hasn’t come from me. So, number one, it’s not true and secondly, I’ll also say that I haven’t made any firm decision on, you know, what my future will be. So, it’s really no need for anybody else to speak for me… or report this or report that. If it’s something to be said, as I said the last time, I’ll speak directly with my team and with Neil. So… that’s that."

First off, do you believe him? Deeper than that though, what does it all mean?

Here’s a few thoughts.
