The Miami Heat need to be at the top of the number when it comes to making the calls for him, because Dame Lillard looks to be out of Portland.
If you want to be totally honest, the Miami Heat’s chances of landing Dame Lillard do, indeed, seem as realistic as ever. The game that’s being played right now isn’t one that isn’t familiar to anyone that has ever followed basketball and the soap opera that comes with it.
Though not as blatant, on some levels, this could be paralleled with the James Harden scenario to begin this past year. While it was clear that James Harden wanted to be out of Houston, based on one’s own eyes and everything that was being heard, he never said it out of his own mouth.
In a similar fashion, you can see Dame’s frustrations beginning to take hold if you have paid attention and listened, while the world is also hearing too much smoke for there not to be some fire attached to it at one end.
Does Paul George… ring a bell for anyone? He was all-in, until he wasn’t, proclaiming one thing all the while and moving towards another.
That’s just two examples of many. The league and sports, in general, are full of them.
This has stronger chances to be the next in that long line of cases than it doesn’t, based on all that has been heard, seen, and put out there. There is this one thing that must be mentioned though.
Notice the wording, in that the Heat’s chances “just became more realistic”. That means that it isn’t a guarantee, by any means, as the Blazers have to actually move him and then the Heat actually have to acquire him.
When the time comes, there will be no shortage of suitors for Dame Dolla’s talent, that can be assured. But as far as actually having that shot, something that was literally a pipe-dream when the season ended a short while ago for Miami, it is more realistic now than ever.
That is entirely true.
