Teams most likely to trade for Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro: Dallas Mavericks
The Dallas Mavericks are a sleeper team in this race but should be accounted for nonetheless. As the new front office regime gets underway, Herro could be the perfect piece to add to the roster.
Keeping Luka Doncic happy is the number one priority for the Mavs, and will be for a long time. The best way to do that is to put together a winning roster.
Adding Herro to the roster would give Doncic a running mate for right now and the future. He would be able to take some of the weight off of Doncic’s shoulders.
Herro is a whole year younger than Doncic, so they would be able to grow together in Dallas. His shooting and secondary playmaking abilities would certainly help out a ton.
He would also act as insurance for Tim Hardaway Jr, who will be a free agent this offseason. A sign-and-trade for Hardaway Jr is one trade the Miami Heat could look at.
Hardaway Jr played super well in the playoffs last year for Dallas. He would be a great shooter and shot-creator to pair alongside Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
If he decided to sign elsewhere, though, there are still other trade assets the Miami Heat could want from the Mavs. Outside of Kristaps Porzingis, they have a ton of depth that could help fill out Miami’s roster.
Players such as Maxi Kleber, Dorian Finney-Smith, and former Heat player Josh Richardson could all help out the Heat. They would then be able to target a point guard in free agency and have plenty of depth to come off the bench.
It may not be the flashiest trade package, but it could improve the Miami Heat roster as a whole. The Mavs are certainly a team that could look to make a move for Herro this summer.
