Players the Miami Heat passed on for Precious Achiuwa: Immanuel Quickley

Immanuel Quickley quickly (no pun intended) emerged as a top rookie in his class early on in the season. His bench scoring was huge for the Knicks as they had an unexpectedly successful season.

He was selected by the Thunder with the 25th pick in the draft before being traded to New York. It was there that he was able to blossom.

In terms of minutes, Quickley played 1243 minutes in total. This is significantly more than Achiuwa played in Miami last year.

Quickley averaged 11.4 points, 2.1 rebounds, and two assists per game. He shot 39.5% from the field and 38.9% from the field.

Though he only started three games, he played in 64. He averaged nearly 20 minutes per game and always managed to make an impact.

His great three-point shooting stood out early on, and he was able to act as the Knicks’ go-to scoring punch off the bench. This is something the Miami Heat could have used last season as they struggled to put points on the board.

In addition, having Quickley on the roster would be super useful now. Both Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn could be gone after this offseason, so having him for point guard depth would have been ideal.

Should the Miami Heat have taken Quickley?: Yes
