Miami Heat’s Greatest Moments: LeBron James kills the Boston Celtics
In year two of the South Beach Big 3, LeBron and the Heat clawed back into the NBA Finals on the back of an amazing performance from The Chosen One. But before we break down the game, we should go back even further.
Reviewing this game and the epic showing from LeBron without context would be a disservice. That means we will need to set that dial back on our time machine a bit further.
In 2007, the Celtics stacked a Paul Pierce-led team with Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett to make a Big 3 of their own. This paid off immediately, with a title at the end of the season.
In the 2008-2009 season, the Celtics came right back, but were hampered by injuries. The 2010 Finals pitted the Los Angeles Lakers against Boston for the second time in three years, with the Lakers lifting the Larry O’Brien trophy in the second bout.
However, running up against Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and the Lakers was only the beginning of the Boston Celtics’ headache.
