Miami Heat unexpected trade targets: Jerami Grant

Jerami Grant had an amazing season last year, finishing second in the voting for Most Improved Player. His dynamic scoring ability would fit in perfectly with the Miami Heat.

Miami does not have a starting power forward at the moment. Adding Grant would iron out their starting five, assuming they are able to sign a point guard in free agency.

Last year, Grant averaged 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. He shot 42.9% from the field and 35% from three-point range.

Though his percentages seem low, that’s only due to the high volume of shots he was taking. Grant was Detroit’s main source of offense last year.

The trade also sees Miami add Mason Plumlee and Cory Joseph. Both players would be valuable rotational pieces that would add depth to the team.

Losing Tyler Herro hurts, but this trade makes the Heat a better team right now. They would be able to re-sign Duncan Robinson and still be active in free agency.

This deal sees the Pistons add to their young core while getting rid of some of their veterans. Herro could line up next to Killian Hayes, Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, and potentially Cade Cunningham in the starting lineup.

Grant would help the Heat elevate themselves to the level of a championship contender. He’s an All-Star caliber player who would have a huge role in Miami.
