The Miami Heat could really benefit from adding a Marvin Bagley type, but will they?
Bagley leaves you very impressed there, getting the rebound, taking it, the classic grab & go, only to be the same guy finishing it on the other end. Though his ball-handling needs a bit of work too, you still leave impressed with his handle, in general.
Now, there are negatives to Bagley’s game too, or he wouldn’t be about to become available. He is entirely too left-hand dominant.
Too many times, Bagley relies on his left hand when attacking the rim. Too many times as well, Bagley spins to his left or euros, just to get back to his left hand.
The weird thing about his game is that he can finish with his right hand, so the potential is there, he just needs to be more confidence or coaching to actually use his right hand. Defensively, he needs some work, but that is where Miami comes into play big time for him.
Even though he needs quite a bit of work on that side, he is already a really decent weak-side defender, who shows flashes of being able to consistently guard around the perimeter. With how fast Bagley is, you would think he could use that on the defensive end too.
There have been reports that both camps, Sacramento and Bagley’s, want a new start, so why not Miami? If Miami could get Bagley for cheap, then you definitely have to think about it if you’re Miami.
If not Bagley, then Miami needs to get someone next to Adebayo that fits a similar profile, right? Miami should put some flyers out in Sacramento though, as Bagley might just be the perfect fit.
