Proposed Tyler Herro trades the Miami Heat could do: Orlando Magic

Herro, Achiuwa for Ross Pick #8

This trade comes from NBA Analysis Network. They propose an inter-division trade that sees the Miami Heat add a quality rotation player and the chance to draft a star.

This year’s draft is supposed to be one of the best in a long time. Adding the eighth overall pick would give the Miami Heat an opportunity to draft an All-Star quality prospect.

Players such as James Bouknight, Josh Giddey, and Moses Moody could all be available at the eighth pick. Any one of those players has the potential to turn into a star.

The Miami Heat would also add Terrence Ross. He would be able to be an elite sixth man and score in bunches for the Heat.

Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic add a proven young talent in Tyler Herro, as well as a project in Precious Achiuwa. They already have the fifth overall pick, so dealing pick eight for Herro could prove to be a smart move.

The biggest risk Miami is taking by doing this deal is that they don’t know how good the rookie they draft will be. If he ends up being a bust, then this trade will come back to bite them.

However, if they manage to draft a star, it could be a great deal to help the team win now, and in the future. It’s a dangerous deal, but Pat Riley loves to live on the wild side.

Pass or pursue?: Pursue, but only if a prospect the Miami Heat love falls to eight
