Young players the Miami Heat should target: Malik Monk – 23 years old

Malik Monk is the perfect offensive spark the Miami Heat could target this offseason. He had a breakout year with the Hornets last year and would be able to make a big-time impact.

Both Devonte’ Graham and Monk are restricted free agents this offseason. The Hornets will probably only re-sign one of them, and Graham is the better player right now, meaning Monk is likely the odd man out.

Last year, he averaged 11.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game. Monk shot 43.4% from the field and 40.1% from three-point range.

He did all this in only 20.9 minutes per game and also averaged five three-pointers per game. This sort of production would only be amplified on the Miami Heat.

Monk has the potential to become an elite scorer in the NBA if put in the right situation. The Miami Heat are primed to be the perfect environment for Monk to succeed in.

They are already elite on the defensive end, meaning all Monk would have to worry about is getting buckets. That just happens to be what he does best.

The Miami Heat desperately need scoring, and Monk would provide that for them. Offering him a deal of around $10-$12 million would allow him and Bam Adebayo to grow together for years.
