Miami Heat Roundtable: Brandon Ingram A Fit In South Beach? – Max’s Take
With the Dallas Mavericks trading Josh Richardson to the Boston Celtics earlier in the weekend, it is official Kyle Lowry season for NBA fans who have cap space. The Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, New Orleans Pelicans, and Philadelphia 76ers are all in play for Mr. Lowry’s services, it would seem.

Rumor has it that Lowry will pull in 3 years at $90 million. Even though Jimmy Butler is close to Lowry, I don’t think that will matter much about Lowry’s decision in free agency.
What happens if Miami can’t get a deal done with Lowry, although most signs would point to that being the case, but what if? Two words for you… Brandon Ingram.
That’s who Miami should focus on and as a matter of fact, perhaps with or without Lowry in tow. Ingram fits Butler’s and Bam Adebayo timeline and would give Miami another bucket getter, regardless.
Plus, a thing that not a ton of folks are talking about is how good Ingram can be defensively, especially if he gets into Miami’s system. Another thing Miami could look into there is a sign and trade for Lonzo Ball, perhaps for Duncan Robinson?
If Miami were to make that deal happen, then they could sign a sharpshooter like Doug Mcdermott to provide Miami a shooter in place of the one they’d be losing. This is a big summer for Miami and with a lot of options before them, Miami needs to choose wisely on what route they’ll take to their next title.
Either way it stands though, Brandon Ingram should definitely be in those plans for them.
