Miami Heat Roundtable: Brandon Ingram A Fit In South Beach? – Colton’s Take

I love the idea of Brandon Ingram on the Miami Heat, but getting him to South Beach will take some doing. Ingram is in the second year of a five-year deal, set to make $29 million this season, and finishing with $36 million in his final year.

This means the Heat will need to sign and trade (unless they want to lose Bam Adebayo or Jimmy Butler) one of the many players hitting the market. Sending Tyler Herro, while signing and trading Victor Oladipo makes the money work.

And I’m sure sweetening the deal with a pick (maybe the 2022 second-round pick from Philadelphia?) could make it happen. Ingram could fit well with the Heat, bringing in outside shooting.

He can hit as a catch-and-shooter and create his own shot. I also love when a player gets better at different things year-over-year and that is exactly what Ingram has done.

He is a more efficient scorer, with an efficient field goal percentage that has improved to 53 percent. His free throw percentage also jumped from 62 to 87 percent.

He could add elite scoring next to Butler and could lead the second team, offensively. He would be a lethal addition if it were to happen.
