Miami Heat best realistic free agent targets: Nicolas Batum
Adding Nicolas Batum would be a great way to round out a perfect, very realistic offseason. Since the Miami Heat will use Dragic in a sign-and-trade, they will likely still have a little bit of money left to spend.
Even if they don’t, they could use one of their MLEs in order to bring Batum on board. He would be the perfect player to help improve wing depth.
The best part about Batum is that he could start at power forward for the Miami Heat. He’s a versatile defender who even spent some time playing center for the Clippers last year.
Last season, Batum averaged 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. He shot 46.4% from the field and 40.4% from three-point range.
If the Miami Heat could put this sort of spacing next to Bam Adebayo, it would open up their offensive game a ton. He could also play some backup small forward minutes for them if necessary.
He’s just a super versatile player who can do whatever the team needs him to do. They desperately need depth, so bringing him on for the MLE would be ideal.
Batum would round out the perfect offseason for Miami. With all this speculation coming to an end later tonight, the only thing left to do is hope Pat Riley can get these deals done.
