Goals for Kyle Lowry with the Miami Heat next season: 40% from three
This might be the most important goal of them all. Lowry has shown that he can be a great three-point shooter, but if he can be elite, the Heat will be in a great position to compete for a title.
It’s no secret that the Miami Heat were a terrible team from behind the three-point line last season. When the two faces of the franchise can’t shoot, it’s bound to lead to some issues.
Well, adding Lowry could be the change they need to fix that issue. He’s been a solid three-point shooter, and with a ton of talent around him, he should be getting some easy looks from deep.
Last season, Lowry shot 39.6% from deep on 7.2 attempts per game. That’s a super high clip on very good efficiency.
He was so close to shooting the elusive 40% from deep last year but fell just short. The only time he eclipsed that number was back in the 2016-17 season when he shot 41.2% on 7.8 attempts per game.
If the Miami Heat get the Lowry who can average 40% on that high of a volume, the ceiling of their team rises dramatically. Having someone else who can space the floor will open up a lot more opportunities on offense.
Butler and Adebayo will have more space to work, and it will also take some of the attention off of Duncan Robinson because opposing defenses will now have another shooter to worry about. Being a great shooter for the Miami Heat is the most important goal Lowry should focus on.
