Ranking NBA offseasons to see where the Miami Heat land
16. Phoenix Suns
The Suns re-signed Chris Paul, which was a great move to keep them in title contention. They also brought in Elfrid Payton and JaVale McGee for depth.
Trading for Landry Shamet was also great for the Suns, as it adds another shooter to their roster. Re-signed Cameron Payne capped off a solid, yet fairly unexciting offseason for Phoenix.
15. New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans wanted Kyle Lowry this summer, who they didn’t get, but overall, they made a bunch of solid moves. They traded for Jonas Valanciunas, who is a better fit next to Zion Williamson, picked up Devonte’ Graham, and brought back Josh Hart on a solid deal.
However, the fact that they lost Lonzo Ball is a confusing, and super unexplainable move. He could have been their point guard of the future, and he was the perfect fit with their young core.
14. Dallas Mavericks
The Mavericks had a very lowkey, but pretty successful offseason. They brought in some solid depth to put alongside Luka Doncic.
Not only did they re-sign Tim Hardaway Jr., but they also picked up Reggie Bullock and Sterling Brown in free agency. Those are two, super solid additions for Dallas
13. Utah Jazz
The Jazz did most of the things they set out to do this offseason. They re-signed Mike Conley and were also able to bring in multiple rotational pieces.
They signed Rudy Gay and also traded for Eric Paschall. Utah was able to keep the majority of their roster intact while also adding a couple of solid players.
