Paul Millsap might technically end up being the 15th man on the roster, but he would have a much bigger role than that. He’s still a quality NBA player who can provide valuable minutes to a winning organization.
The 6-7 power forward would be able to do so many things for the Miami Heat. Not only is he a super versatile defender, but he can also stretch the floor.
Both of these skills are things that would greatly improve Miami’s bench. Millsap might even make the case for the starting job over PJ Tucker.
Having a veteran like Millsap on the roster would be super beneficial for the Miami Heat. he could help mentor Bam Adebayo and Omer Yurtseven while also playing some bench minutes.
Veteran NBA free agents the Miami Heat should target: Wesley Matthews
Adding Wesley Matthews to the roster would help shore up a lack of wing depth. The Miami Heat have solid wings, but they don’t have a lot of them.
Realistically, after Jimmy Butler and Duncan Robinson, all the Heat have is Max Strus, who is more of a guard than a wing. Matthews would join the team and immediately be able to provide some solid minutes at the wing.
Matthews has always been a quality three-point shooter and can also play some good defense. That’s all the Miami Heat should be looking for from their bench guys.

His veteran presence could also be a great help to players like Tyler Herro and Robinson. Miami should definitely offer him a deal if he’s interested.
