Potential trade targets the Miami Heat should monitor: Collin Sexton

Yes, this trade rumor has been talked about so many times that fans are probably sick of it. However, that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a great trade for the Miami Heat to make.

Collin Sexton has the perfect mentality to play in Miami. He’s a workhorse who is willing to do whatever it takes to get better and win.

Just because he has played in Cleveland his whole career doesn’t mean that he’s not trying to win. The pieces around him haven’t exactly been ideal.

Last year, Sexton put up All-Star-caliber numbers on one of the worst teams in the league. He averaged 24.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game while shooting 47.5% from the field and 37.1% from deep.

The main knock on his game is that he’s not great at sharing the ball. With better shooters around him, he could end up proving to be a better playmaker than most give him credit for.

Miami would give him the opportunity to prove that. However, what’s even better is that Sexton wouldn’t have to worry about being a playmaker in Miami.

Since Jimmy Butler and Kyle Lowry are at the helm in that regard, Sexton would only have to worry about doing what he does best – getting buckets.

Trading for Sexton would pair him with Bam Adebayo for the future, too. That’s a potential All-Star pairing that Miami would be able to lock up for years to come.

If the Cavaliers are still interested in trading Sexton by the time the deadline rolls around, Miami should definitely make the move. He would help them right now, and for the better part of the next decade.
