Miami Heat: 3 Bold Predictions For Markieff Morris In 2021-22 – The Range
Though he hasn’t ever been a volume shooter, in any sense of the word, there is an interesting scenario going on when you look at his three point numbers. In seasons where he shoots more, he shoots it better.
He’ll Shoot 35 Percent Or Better On Over Two Attempts Or More From Range
Because the Miami Heat have focused so much on the outside shot in recent seasons, you have to believe that they’ll encourage him to take his looks too. With that, he’s averaged 2.5 attempts per game across his career, though just 1.1 and 1.4 over his last two seasons.
As mentioned with him though, his efficiency increases with volume, a rare phenomenon. That and the fact that, again, that’s just been the Heat philosophy over the last couple of seasons leans towards the above being true.
He’ll take his 2.5 or so that he has for his career or more in Miami. With the space and opportunity he should be afforded, he should make good on those.
Being a 34.1 percent shooter from range for his career, it’s not crazy, at all, to think he can climb to 35 percent this season… and maybe even surpass it. One thing is for certain though and that’s that he’ll be a huge part of what they hope to do this year.
He should be, anyway. If he can crush these predictions, then that certainly means they are succeeding.
For them, that could mean success at the highest level, as they are built to do it. Hopefully that is the case and hopefully, Markieff is fulfilling these predictions along the way.
