Ranking NBA starting point guards to see where the Miami Heat land

10. De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings

De’Aaron Fox had a super underrated season last year because the Kings weren’t all that great. He is one of the best up-and-coming point guards in the league.

He has elite speed, great vision, and is turning into a very productive scorer. The next step in Fox’s development is helping the Kings end their league-worst playoff drought.

9. Kyle Lowry, Miami Heat

This is where Miami Heat point guard Kyle Lowry falls on this list. He’s one of the best passers in the league, as well as one of the smartest point guards.

Lowry is a great three-point shooter who should help transform the lackluster Miami Heat offense. If all things go to plan, the Miami Heat have a serious shot at making the NBA Finals.

8. Jrue Holiday, Milwaukee Bucks

The Bucks are coming off of an NBA championship, and they could not have done it without Jrue Holiday. People make fun of his offensive struggles, but he more than made up for it on defense.

He is arguably the best defensive guard in the NBA. When the Bucks needed a stop last year, he was often the one to get it for them.

7. Russell Westbrook, Los Angeles Lakers

What Russell Westbrook did last year in Washington was nothing short of incredible. He dragged the Wizards to a playoff appearance after they got off to an awful start.

Now, he’ll be in LA trying to help LeBron James and Anthony Davis win their second ring in the city. He’ll have to adjust to a new role, but he’s still the same great player.

6. Chris Paul, Phoenix Suns

Chris Paul was able to help lead the Phoenix Suns to the NBA Finals last season. In just his first year with the team, he helped end their long playoff drought.

This summer, the Suns gave him a huge payday in hopes that they can repeat that same success. We’ll see how Paul does as he inches closer and closer to the age of 40.
