The Timberwolves make their third selection in this re-draft and take their second guard of the event. After selecting LaMelo Ball first overall, they take Malachi Flynn here to be his backup.
Flynn put up some solid numbers with the Raptors in his rookie season. He played almost 20 minutes per game for them but did struggle to shoot the ball efficiently.
He is the type of player who, while he may never be a star, will definitely be able to carve out a long NBA career. Flynn just seems as though he will be a solid NBA point guard for a very long time.
Though his numbers need to improve, he can shoot the ball well, he can pass, he can rebound, and he plays with energy. The only reason he fell this far in the re-draft is that his ceiling probably isn’t that high.
Regardless, the Timberwolves get another solid prospect in this re-draft, despite losing out on Jaden McDaniels. As for Flynn, he jumps up one spot from where he was taken in real life.
